Have you been asked to provide a Traffic Management Plan (TMP) or Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP) as part of a planning application or construction works?
These documents are usually required by the local planning or highway authorities for approval before construction activity commences that potentially conflicts with vehicular traffic and pedestrians.
We can provide TMPs highlighting temporary traffic control as part of, for example, public events or route plans for abnormal vehicle movements, with traffic signal control diagrams, phasing and staging data and Swept Path Analysis included.
Our TMPs will highlight safety zones, working areas, temporary carriageway alignments etc under the ‘Traffic Signs Manual’ and ‘Safety at Street Works and Road Works’.
From minor works involving obstruction of a public footway to new residential developments, we can provide CTMP documents to support, for example, a discharge of conditions with site layouts highlighting building and material locations and swept path analysis representing vehicle movements on-site and on the surrounding highway network.

CTMP FOR WOODLANDS HOUSE, ESSEX, UK
In 2020, Ayen Consulting submitted a CTMP required as part of a planning condition for a new-build residential property in Essex. With restricted site area and challenging vertical alignment at the site access, we produced and submitted a CTMP highlighting information such as loading and storage compound areas; staff car parking layout; and vehicle wash areas.
Our Swept Path Analysis (SPA) highlighted the vehicle movements for potential traffic that may be involved in the site activity during construction, internally and externally from the site, providing the Local Highway Authority with confidence that the construction site would operate safely and have minimal impact on residents in the neighbouring area.
