A12/A1112 WHALEBONE LANE, DAGENHAM - DESIGN & MODELLING
We were engaged by Transport for London to assess congestion concerns at the signalised junction during peak periods. Using LINSIG junction modelling software, we presented to the local highway authority a well-received incremental snap-shot why the junction was underperforming and provided a do-minimum upgrade design to improve traffic capacity. Our design was approved by the Local Highway Authority with an extension of the existing northbound right-turn lane constructed resulting in a significant reduction in delays and Practical Reserve Capacity (PRC). Following a further request, our junction design also included controlled pedestrian facilities linking the existing southern footway.
